Aris and Zalime Diaz, March 6, 2010, The Castle Hotel, DJ Ray (Latin) …. This wedding was all about the details and the special touches that made Aris and Zalime’s day truly magical.  Soundwave provided LED Wall Uplighting in red for this celebration as well as DJ services.  The celebration began with the rooftop ceremony.  Songs included Yellow and Beautiful Day both by the Vitamin String Quartet, You’re Still the One, My Baby You and Wedding March.  The reception featured fabulous white swags from the ceiling that were glowing red from Soundwave’s LED lights.  Other details included a candy bar, caricature artist, and acrobat show!  The bride and groom entered the reception with a mini marching band for their grand entrance straight into their first dance, A Groovy Kind of Love.  The newlyweds cut their cake to Amores Como El Nuestra and Tu Amore Me Hace Bien.  Garter songs included The Stripper Song, Another One Bites the Dust and Single Ladies.  Open dancing featured a mix of current dance hits, some 80-90’s and plenty of salsa, merengue and reggaeton. WALL UPLIGHTING 101

OUT DATED PAR CANS – Pictured here is a standard par can used to put color on walls or a dance floor. Many DJ and specialty lighting companies are still using this out-dated technology today. This type of par can uses large amounts of power and get extremely hot. In order to achieve a desired color to match your room decor, a colored gel is placed on top of the light. If the walls are not white, oftentimes it is a guessing game as to whether a particular gel will yield the desired color. The biggest downfall of par cans is that many times a resort or country club will need to provide a special “power drop” in order to avoid blowing the circuit due to the excessive power required to operate these par cans. Power drops can run on average about $350.

STATE OF ART LED UPLIGHTING - LED is the newest technology in the market specialty lighting effects. Soundwave has made a major investment in LED dance floor lighting and wall uplighting so that our clients can create that “Platinum Effect” at their wedding reception!

The LED Wall Palette pictured above is as powerful as a 300 watt par can but only uses 10 watts of power! This LED Wall Palette when placed at the base of a wall will yield approximately 5-7 feet of color on the wall beaming up to the ceiling. The more wall palettes you use in a room, the more intense the wash of color throughout your room!

DJ LES KOPASZ, WIFE WENDY AND SON DYLAN FAMILY STORY

The Kopasz story began in 1985 in Buffalo, NY, when Les and Wendy began dating in high school. At the time, Wendy was a dedicated Speed Skater traveling the world and was an alternative on the 1988 US Olympic Speed Skating Team…crazy but true!

Like any young couple, we were on and off again throughout our teen years and early 20s. Wendy hung up the speed skates and joined Les at college. Weekends were busy for Les dee jaying at various night clubs throughout Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

In 1994, Les and Wendy finally tied the knot at a beautiful Catholic church ceremony followed by an elegant reception at Samuel’s Grande Manor with 200 of our family, lots of friends and plenty of DJs…of course!

We honeymooned for 6 years while we both pursued careers and Les slowly transitioned from weekend dee jaying to weddings and private parties…the beginning of Soundwave Entertainment! We traveled a lot and lived for Buffalo summers where we boated on the beautiful waterways of the Niagara River and Lake Erie.

Finally parenthood called, and our beautiful son Dylan was born in June 2000 – the first grandchild on both sides! After 9-11, Les’ corporate job moved us to Orlando. Soon after moving to Orlando, Les and Wendy re-established Soundwave Entertainment and Wendy began aggressively marketing our DJ company.

Three years later, Soundwave Entertainment, Orlando, went full time and Les said goodbye to his corporate job. Today Soundwave is a full time business for Les and Wendy and small team of DJs.

Of course our son Dylan is, at least in our eyes, the coolest 8 year old around. Following in our music footsteps, he is an aspiring rock drummer! He takes drum lessons and idolizes RUSH. At the tender age of 7, Dylan witnessed his first concert…RUSH. Now Les and Dylan are gearing up for 3rd row seats at AC/DC in December.

When we are not dee jaying, Les, Wendy, Dylan and our golden retriever Fuzzy can be found on the Butler Chain waterskiing, or in Clearwater boating and swimming with the dolphins at our favorite hangout Shepards!
